We hope you had a great summer! Some of you worked, some studied, some relaxed, some vacationed, some traveled…the list goes on. For most of you, you’re back on campus, ready to start classes together on Wednesday. Remember that the advising team, and your own assigned advisor, is back, too…and ready to support you as you tackle another semester of learning at NC State! You got this!
You’ll notice some changes this Fall in how we communicate with you. Many of you completed an advising survey last spring (Thank you!) giving us some feedback on preferred methods of communication. We heard that most of you prefer email communication, but we got some great suggestions for improvement to how we send out information.
Our Fall 2018 communication plan includes
- Direct emails from bioadvising@ncsu.edu for very important information. We’ll use this sparingly, but if we send you email from this address, it’s important.
- Two new, targeted Google Groups that you can subscribe to – see our separate post about that
- Blog posts at http://go.ncsu.edu/thebioadvisor, which will be summarized in a weekly newsletter
- An updated blog site
- Special Enrollment Advising emails you’ll start seeing in October
- In progress: new physical bulletin boards in Bostian Hall
